Rolltop desks are pretty popular these days.
A rolltop desk has a rolling seal, which can roll
open and close to conceal and cover some parts
of the desk.
Some people prefer this design to others for the ability
of covering the computer monitor when they're done with it.

of the desk, which can then be locked. This can prevent
